Terms of Service

1. Who We Are
HVAC IS LIFE ("we," "us") operates hvacislife.com, including our job board, education content, Q&A community, and podcast pages (together, the "Site"). These Terms are a contract between you and HVAC IS LIFE. By using the Site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Site.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the job board. By using the Site, you confirm that you are.
3. Your Account
You're responsible for your account and everything done with it. Keep your password to yourself. Give us accurate information and keep it current. We can suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.
4. The Job Board Is a Venue, Not an Employer or Agency
Our job board connects HVAC businesses with technicians and other trade professionals. We are not an employer, staffing agency, or recruiter, and we are not a party to any hiring decision, employment relationship, interview, offer, or contract that comes out of the Site. We don't verify the accuracy of listings, the credentials of technicians, or the legitimacy of employers beyond any verification badges we choose to display, and a badge is not a guarantee. Do your own due diligence before hiring or accepting work.
5. Listings and Content Rules
When you post a listing, question, comment, or message, you agree that it will: be accurate and not misleading; be yours to post; comply with all applicable laws, including employment and anti-discrimination laws (job listings may not exclude applicants based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other legally protected status); and contain no spam, scams, harassment, malware, or attempts to collect other users' data. Job listings must be posted directly by the hiring business; third-party recruiter and staffing-agency listings are not permitted. We may remove any content, decline any listing, or ban any account at our discretion, including through automated review, with or without notice.
6. Your Content and Our License
You own what you post. By posting it, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it as needed to operate and promote the Site (for example, showing your listing on the job board and in search results). This license ends when your content is deleted, except for copies kept in routine backups or as required by law.
7. Messages Between Users
When you contact a listing through the Site, the information you submit (your name, email, experience, and message) is delivered to the listing's owner so they can respond to you. Don't use the messaging system to spam, harass, or solicit for unrelated services.
8. Acceptable Use
Don't attempt to break, probe, or overload the Site; scrape or bulk-collect data; access accounts or data that aren't yours; bypass our security or rate limits; or use the Site to violate any law.
9. Our Content
The Site's own content - articles, podcast materials, branding, and design - belongs to us or our licensors. You may share links to it freely; don't republish it wholesale without permission.
10. Disclaimers
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any listing or user is who they claim to be.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HVAC IS LIFE and its owners, hosts, and partners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, arising from your use of the Site - including anything arising from a hiring relationship formed through the job board. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100) or the amount you paid us in the past twelve months, whichever is greater.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Site, or your violation of these Terms or the law.
13. Termination
You can stop using the Site or delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate access at any time for violations of these Terms. Sections 6, 10, 11, 12, and 15 survive termination.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll post the updated Terms here with a new effective date. Continuing to use the Site after changes take effect means you accept them.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma.
