Privacy Policy

1. The Short Version
We collect what we need to run the Site - mainly your account info, your listings, and the messages you send through the job board. We don't sell your personal information. Job seekers' and employers' contact emails on listings are kept private and are never displayed publicly. Messages you send to a listing go to that listing's owner. Contact messages are automatically deleted after 180 days.
2. What We Collect
Account information. When you sign up: your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider), or your Google account's basic profile if you sign in with Google. Optionally, a profile avatar you upload. Listings. What you post on the job board: job details, company info, pay ranges, locations, certifications, experience, bio, and the contact email you attach to a listing. Your listing's contact email is never shown publicly on the Site. Messages. When you contact a listing: your name, email, years of experience, and message. These are delivered to the listing owner and stored so they can respond. Community content. Questions, comments, and upvotes you post. Newsletter signups. Your email, if you subscribe. Automatic data. Standard technical data needed to run and protect the Site: IP-level information used by our hosting and security providers (including Cloudflare's bot protection), authentication cookies that keep you signed in, and basic counters like listing view counts. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
3. How We Use It
To operate the job board and community; to deliver your messages to listing owners and notify them by email; to send account emails like sign-up confirmations and password resets; to send the newsletter if you subscribed (you can unsubscribe anytime); to moderate content, prevent spam and abuse, and enforce our Terms; and to fix problems and improve the Site.
4. Who Sees Your Information
Other users: your published listings are public (except the contact email attached to them). When you message a listing, the owner receives your name, email, experience, and message so they can reply. Your community posts are public under the name on your profile. Service providers that help us run the Site: cloud hosting and database services, email delivery services, bot-protection and content-delivery services, Google (only if you sign in with Google), and the platform that manages our newsletter. These providers process data only to provide their services to us. Legal: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the Site and its users. We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with third parties for their own advertising.
5. Retention
Messages sent to listings are automatically deleted 180 days after they're sent. Listings remain until they expire or you delete them. Account information remains until you delete your account. Email bounce and suppression records are kept as needed to maintain deliverability. Routine backups may persist for a limited period after deletion.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You can edit or delete your listings, unsubscribe from the newsletter via the link in any newsletter email, and request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, or deletion) - contact us and we'll honor applicable requests.
7. Security
We use industry-standard protections, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, database-level access controls that restrict who can read what, and automated abuse prevention. No system is perfectly secure, but privacy protections are built into how the Site is designed.
8. Children
The Site is not directed to children and may not be used by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes
If we materially change this policy, we'll post the update here with a new effective date.
